Privacy Policy
Introduction
Myzo, LLC ("Myzo," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Myzo College mobile application (the "App") and the website located at college.getmyzo.com (together, the "Services"). Myzo College helps students plan their coursework, work in timed focus sessions, track their grades, and study with flash cards.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Myzo College, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies only to Myzo College. Our other apps, Myzo Kids and Myzo Parents, have their own privacy policies at kids.getmyzo.com/privacy.
The short version: we collect what we need to run the App, we don't sell your information, we don't use it for advertising, and you can download or delete everything from inside the App at any time.

1. Who Myzo College Is For
Myzo College is designed for college and university students. You must be at least sixteen (16) years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
Myzo College is not directed to children under thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under thirteen, we will delete it. If you believe a child under thirteen has created an account, please contact us at privacy@getmyzo.com.
Each Myzo College account belongs to one person. There are no shared, family, or school-managed accounts, and nothing in your account is visible to any other user.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the App.
2.1 Information you give us
- Account information. Your email address and a password (we store only a secure hash of it, never the password itself). If you sign in with Apple or Google instead, we receive an account identifier from that provider, your email address (which, with Apple, may be a private relay address), and your name if you choose to share it.
- Profile information. Your first name, the school you attend, your academic year (optional), your timezone, and an optional profile photo you take or choose from your photo library.
- Setup answers. Your answers to the short questions we ask during setup (for example, how you approach studying and planning), how you heard about Myzo, any referral code you enter, and whether you want to receive tips and updates by email.
- Consent records. A record of each time you agree to our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, or opt in to or out of marketing email, including the version you agreed to and the date and time. We do not record your IP address with these records.
- Your study content. The classes you add (name, course code, label color, and term), the tasks you create (names, types, due dates, recurring schedules, and notes), your focus sessions and breaks (start and end times and durations), the grades and scores you log, your flash card sets and cards, and the results of your study sessions.
- Support requests. If you contact support through the App or our website, the category, subject, and description you write, your email address, and basic technical details about your app and device so we can investigate.
2.2 Information created as you use the App
- Progress and rewards. Points (XP), levels, and achievements earned from your activity.
- Subscription information. Your subscription status, plan, trial and renewal dates, and opaque transaction identifiers. We never receive or store your payment card number, bank details, or billing address — Apple handles payment (see Section 6).
- Notification information. If you allow notifications, a push token that lets us send reminders to your device, and the reminders scheduled for you (such as a focus session that's due or a grade to log).
- Technical information. App version, operating-system version, and device model, used to deliver notifications and to diagnose problems you report.
2.3 Information that stays on your device
- Calendar. If you turn on calendar sync, the App adds your focus sessions and due dates to your device's calendar. We do not upload your calendar, and we do not read your other calendar events.
- Photos and camera. The App accesses your camera or photo library only when you choose to take or pick a photo (for your profile picture or to create flash cards). It does not browse your library.
- Offline copy and preferences. To keep working without a connection, the App stores a copy of your recent data on your device, along with preferences such as your language and sound settings. This copy is removed when you sign out or delete the App.
2.4 Information we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, health data, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking in the App, and we do not currently use a third-party analytics service in the App.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the App: sign you in, save and sync your classes, tasks, sessions, grades, and flash cards across your devices, and schedule your study plan.
- Send reminders you've turned on: focus-session, deadline, and grade reminders.
- Generate flash cards from notes or pages you choose to submit (see Section 4).
- Manage your subscription: confirm your plan with Apple and unlock paid features.
- Communicate with you: send sign-in codes, account and security messages, replies to your support requests, and, only if you opted in, tips and updates.
- Keep the Services safe and working: investigate problems, prevent abuse, and protect our users.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your information, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to build profiles about you for anyone else.
4. AI Flash Card Generation
When you ask Myzo College to create flash cards from photos of your notes, textbook pages, or slides, or from text you paste in, we send those images or that text to Anthropic PBC, our AI provider, which returns suggested questions and answers. We save the resulting flash cards to your account.
- Only the study material is sent. We do not send your name, email address, school, or any other account or profile information with the request.
- Your photos of study material are not stored by us. They are used to generate the cards and are not saved to your account or our storage.
- Anthropic does not keep your material or train on it. Under Anthropic's API data-retention policy, the content of these requests is not retained after Anthropic returns its response and is never used to train Anthropic's models.
- Please don't submit sensitive information (for example, health records or other people's personal details) as study material.
AI-generated flash cards can contain mistakes. Always check them against your course material.
5. When We Share Information
We share your information only in these situations:
- With service providers that help us run the App, listed in Section 6. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- With Apple to process in-app purchases and deliver notifications, and with Apple or Google if you choose to sign in with them.
- In a business transfer. If Myzo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- For legal reasons, if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Myzo, our users, or the public.
- With your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Your study content is never shown to other users.
6. Service Providers
We use the following service providers to operate Myzo College. Each is contractually required to protect your information and to use it only to provide services to us.

| Google LLC | Sign in with Google (if you choose it); Google Workspace for our company email | United States |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Subscription status management for in-app purchases | United States |
| 650 Industries, Inc. ("Expo") | Push-notification delivery and app updates | United States |
| Resend (Drie Labs Inc.) | Sign-in codes, account email, and optional updates | United States |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting and delivery of our website | United States |
7. Your Choices and Controls
- Edit your profile at any time in Settings → Profile.
- Profile photo: change or remove it in Settings → Profile.
- Notifications: turn them on or off in Settings → Notifications or in your device settings.
- Calendar sync: turn it on or off in Settings → Calendar Sync. Removing access in your device settings stops the App from adding events.
- Camera and photos: you can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any update we send, or contact us.
8. Downloading Your Data
You can download a copy of the information in your account at any time from Settings → Account → Download my data. The file includes your profile, classes, tasks, sessions, grades, flash cards, progress, setup answers, consent records, subscription and support records, and settings, plus a temporary link to your profile photo.
9. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account from Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@getmyzo.com.
- Seven-day grace period. Deleting your account starts a seven-day countdown and signs you out. If you change your mind, sign back in within seven days and tap Restore.
- After seven days, your account and everything in it — profile, photo, classes, tasks, sessions, grades, flash cards, progress, setup answers, consent records, notification settings, and support requests — is permanently deleted, and we ask our subscription provider to delete your subscription record. We keep only a minimal record that an account was deleted and when, with no personal information in it.
- Your Apple subscription is not canceled automatically. Apple bills subscriptions, so you must cancel it yourself in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. The App reminds you of this when you delete your account.
10. Data Retention
- While your account is active, we keep your information so the App works.
- After you delete your account, we delete it as described in Section 9. Copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten within about seven (7) days after that.
- Support requests are kept while your account is active and deleted with it. Requests sent without an account are kept for as long as needed to resolve them and for our records.
- Legal and financial records may be kept longer where the law requires.
11. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, database rules that allow each account to read only its own records, private storage for profile photos with short-lived access links, hashed passwords, and restricted, multi-factor-protected administrative access to our systems.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
12. Where Your Information Is Processed
Myzo is based in the United States, and our systems and service providers are located primarily in the United States. If you use Myzo College from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. We protect transferred information as described in this Privacy Policy and through contracts with our service providers.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Access your information, including by downloading it (Section 8);
- Correct your profile information in the App or by contacting us;
- Delete your account and information (Section 9);
- Withdraw consent to optional processing, such as marketing email or notifications; and
- Ask questions or make a complaint by contacting us (Section 19).
To make a request we can't handle in the App, email privacy@getmyzo.com. We may need to confirm your identity, usually by checking the email address on your account. We will respond within the time required by law in your location, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
14. Additional Rights for Residents of Canada, Mexico, and Other Countries in the Americas
Canada. We handle your information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Québec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). You may access and correct your information, withdraw consent, and file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, the Commission d'accès à l'information. The person responsible for the protection of personal information at Myzo can be reached at privacy@getmyzo.com.
Mexico. Under the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, you have the rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition (ARCO rights), which you may exercise by emailing privacy@getmyzo.com.
Other countries. If you live in another country in the Americas, you may have additional rights under your local data-protection law, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your information, and to complain to your data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise them.
15. Additional Rights for U.S. State Residents
Residents of California and of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others) may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, and to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of it. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you, so there is nothing to opt out of. You may use an authorized agent to make a request, subject to verification. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
Categories of personal information we collect (past 12 months): identifiers (such as name and email); customer records; commercial information (subscription records); internet or electronic network activity (app version and device details); education information (grades and coursework you choose to log); and visual information (a profile photo and study-material photos, if you provide them). Each is collected from you or created by your use of the App, used for the purposes in Section 3, and disclosed only to the service providers in Section 6.
16. Marketing Communications
We send tips and updates by email only if you opt in. You can opt out at any time with the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting us. We will still send messages needed to run your account, such as sign-in codes and security notices.
17. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
The App does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we will honor Global Privacy Control signals where required.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or in the App before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised.
