Getting Myzo on your phone
How to pick your setup path on the welcome screen, scan the QR code (or enter your setup code), sign in with your PIN, and start using Myzo.

Hey! Before you can use Myzo, your parent has to add you as a kid on their app. Once they do, you'll see a QR code on their phone — that's what you scan with your phone to link everything up. Here's how it goes.
What you need
- Your phone.
- Your parent (or whoever set up the account) nearby with their phone.
- The 4-digit PIN your parent picked for you. Ask them if you don't know it.
The welcome screen — pick your path
When you open Myzo Kids for the first time, the welcome screen shows you three cards. Pick the one that matches your situation:
- A PARENT SET ME UP — They have a QR code for me. Tap this if your grown-up already added you in their Myzo Parents app and is showing you a QR code (or gave you a 6-character setup code). A short carousel below the card walks you through the pairing steps.
- NEW PHONE — Move my account here. Tap this if you already had Myzo on an older phone and are moving to a new one. A carousel walks you through the swap steps.
- NO ACCOUNT YET — Start on my own. Tap this to try Myzo in trial mode without a grown-up account. You can link up with a grown-up later.
If your phone used to belong to a brother, sister, or friend and they had Myzo Kids on it, don't worry — whichever card you tap, Myzo cleans out whatever the other kid had on the phone before setting up your account. You're not starting on top of their stuff.
Install the app
Open the App Store on your phone (or the Play Store if it's an Android phone).
Search for Myzo Kids and tap Install.
Open the app. You'll see some welcome cards that fade through — those explain what's about to happen. You can tap through them or just wait.
Scan the QR code
Ask your parent to open Myzo Parents and go to the QR code screen (they'll see it after setting up your account).
Open your phone's Camera app and point it at the QR code on their screen.
A yellow bar will pop up at the top of your camera. Tap it — it opens Myzo Kids automatically.
Enter your PIN
Once Myzo Kids opens after the QR scan, it'll ask you for your PIN.
Type in the 4-digit PIN your parent set for you.
You're in! You'll get 10 XP just for downloading the app (nice job).
The tutorial
The first thing you'll see is a quick tutorial. It walks you through your dashboard, the timer, flashcards, rewards, and progress screens. At the end, it asks you to add your first real task — the actual assignment you're working on today.
While the tutorial is loading in, Myzo blocks taps for a second or two so you don't accidentally skip past the first overlay. If it feels frozen, wait a beat — the intro is just catching up.
Signing in later
You only scan the QR code once. After that, when you open Myzo Kids, you just enter your PIN and you're in — right back where you left off, with your tasks, XP, streak, and flashcards exactly as you had them. Myzo saves your place when you sign out and restores it when you sign back in.
If you forget your PIN, ask your parent — they can see it in their Settings.
What's next
- Your dashboard — what all the sections mean.
- The focus timer — how to run a focus block.
- Adding tasks — how to add what you're working on.
