Family + guardians
How to add a second guardian to your family account, what each guardian can see and do, and how to remove one.
Updated 2026-08-26
A Myzo family can have more than one adult on it — typically two parents, sometimes a parent and a grandparent, or a co-parent across two households. Every guardian gets full access to the same shared family: the same kids, the same tasks, the same rewards, the same dashboards.
Adding a second guardian
In Myzo Parents, tap Settings at the top of your dashboard.
Tap Family + Guardians.
Tap Invite a guardian.
Enter their email address. Myzo sends them an invite email with a one-tap link.
They open the link on their phone, install Myzo Parents (if they don't have it), sign in with the invited email, and land directly into your shared family.
What each guardian can see and do
All guardians on a family have identical permissions. Any guardian can:
- See every kid's dashboard, tasks, focus history, and grades.
- Edit or delete any task.
- Add or remove rewards.
- Configure notifications for their own device.
- Invite additional guardians.
- Remove other guardians (with confirmation — see below).
- Manage the subscription.
- Delete the account (with confirmation — see Deleting your account).
There is no "primary" versus "secondary" guardian role — the design here is that co-parents share equal footing on their kids' account.
Removing a guardian
In Settings → Family + Guardians, tap the guardian you want to remove.
Tap Remove from family. You'll be asked to confirm.
On confirmation, that guardian loses access immediately — their app kicks them out on next sync and shows a "removed from family" screen.
Leaving a family
If you're a guardian on someone else's family (e.g. your co-parent invited you) and you want to leave voluntarily rather than be removed, go to Settings → Family + Guardians → Leave this family. Same effect as being removed, but you initiate it.
Households across two families
Myzo doesn't currently support one kid being on two separate families (e.g. a shared-custody arrangement where each parent has their own Myzo account with the same kid). If this comes up for you, the workaround is to share one family across both households by inviting the other parent as a guardian. If that's not feasible, contact support and we'll figure it out with you.
