XP + rewards
How you earn XP, what streaks and achievements do, and how to spend XP on rewards your parent set up.

XP is how Myzo tracks the effort you put in. You earn it for completing focus blocks, finishing tasks, hitting streaks, and unlocking achievements. Your XP total goes up and never down — Myzo doesn't take points away.
How to earn XP
- Finish a focus block = 10 XP. Partial blocks give partial XP.
- Finish a task = a bonus depending on the task type (bigger for test prep and projects, smaller for quick homework).
- Keep a streak = a daily bonus that grows the longer your streak lasts.
- Unlock an achievement = whatever XP the achievement is worth (varies).
Streaks
A streak is how many days in a row you've completed at least one focus block. It shows in your dashboard header.
- Miss a day → streak resets to 0.
- Finish a block any time before midnight → streak counts for that day.
Streaks are one of the best ways to keep going even when you don't feel like it. Nobody wants to break a 14-day streak.
Achievements
Achievements are badges you unlock for hitting milestones. Each one gives you XP when you unlock it. They come in two flavours:
Worked-Through achievements
These fire when you actually work through the timer sessions on a task. Names to watch for:
- Task Crusher, Triple Threat, Getting Things Done, Double Digits, Assignment Ace, Task Titan, Fifty Tasks, Task Legend, Century Task Club, Task Elite, Task Master.
The description is always "Worked through N tasks." Doing the work is what unlocks them.
Turn-In achievements
These fire when you actually submit work — mark a task as ready to turn in, or your parent grades it. Names to watch for:
- First Turn-In, Hand It In (5), Reliable (10), Quarter Century (25), Fifty & Faithful (50), Century Turn-Ins (100).
Getting the work done is one thing; getting it in is another, and these celebrate the second half.
When you unlock one
A popup shows up on your screen with a little celebration animation. The background blurs behind it so the number you just earned really pops. You can tap through it right away or come back to it in Achievements on your dashboard — every achievement you've ever unlocked lives there with the date.
Rewards
Rewards are stuff your parent set up that you can trade XP for. They picked what and how much. Common examples:
- 100 XP = 15 minutes of screen time.
- 250 XP = ice cream after dinner.
- 500 XP = pick the family movie.
To see and redeem rewards, tap Rewards on your dashboard. If you have enough XP, tap the reward and confirm. Your XP total drops by that amount, and your parent gets a notification so they know to actually give you the thing.
While you're waiting, the reward shows REQUESTED. Once your parent says yes it turns grey, shows REDEEMED, and slides to the end of the row so the ones you can still go for stay at the front.
If a reward costs more XP than you have right now, its price stays on the card but the button isn't filled in — that's how you can tell what you're still saving toward.
Rewards you can earn again
Some rewards can only be earned once. After your parent approves it, that reward disappears from your row for good — it's done.
Others can be earned again and again, if your parent switched that on when they made it. Those stay on your row, so right after one is approved you'll see the greyed-out one and a fresh one you can start saving for.
You don't have to keep track of which is which — anything still sitting on your row is something you can still earn.
Past Rewards
At the end of your rewards row there's a View Past Rewards button. Tap it to see everything you've redeemed and the day you got it.
It's worth a look before you spend: if a reward was a one-time thing and it's already gone from your row, it'll still be in here, so you can see what you've already claimed and plan what to save for next.
What if my parent hides XP?
Some parents prefer to keep XP hidden — the app still tracks everything, but you won't see the counter, achievements, or streaks on your dashboard. If that's your setup, ask your parent about it. It's their call.
